Portland Pug
Hi, everyone! So I am going to attempt to post a blog...I am a newbie at this, but I think I can do this!

I grew up loving to take pictures and finally got started with a "real" camera (an old manual Minolta SLR) back in my early 20's. I quickly fell in love with taking every image I could. Especially of my two young munchkins which was pretty much impossible with a manual film camera...I even had to manually advance the frame! But it built patience and perseverance in me, to know when to shoot and when to wait. We decided to invest in a digital SLR and from that point on I grew by leaps and bounds! I checked out every book I could find at the library, took every workshop that was available, asked for tons of advice from other photographers, and basically taught myself the mechanics of photography. But God blessed me with the eye for seeing beauty in the ordinary.

I love to shoot weddings, the joy of sharing in the emotions of a bride and groom and to be given the opportunity to record those moments is priceless. I am honored to be asked to share their wedding day with them, this is a one time event and they are depending on me and my skills to be able to capture what the day meant for them.

My other great love (besides my husband and children:) is to photograph expectant mothers. I love to show the beauty that a woman posses when she carries another human being in her body. It really is extraordinary, just think about the miracle of birth. I strive to unveil a women's unique love for their unborn child as I photograph her.

And of course I can't leave out babies...because they are truly a gift from God. When a parent asks me to photograph their new born baby, I remember the awe and wonder I had when my little ones first entered my life. And I try to capture the tenderness, innocence, and newness that make each tiny baby so special.

My art comes from my passion, my love for beauty. And searching for that beauty in all people and all circumstances.

Great job! First posts are hard, but then it becomes a lovely new addiction for some. I'm glad to see another brave soul adding their story. Thanks!
