Serena Davidson Photography

As a fourth generation professional photographer I have been taking photographs since the age of seven and photographed my first wedding at age nineteen. Being a professional photographer has put me onto the football field with Sports Illustrated, onto the basketball court with the Sonics, on a photo-shoot with Jane Goodall, into fine art technique discussion with Keith Carter, on a pig farm before sunrise with Bob Peterson, documenting the Amazon.com Japan site launch celebration, simulating beach waves in a pool in Phoenix, shooting publicity photos for musicians in Manhattan, and photographing numerous performance artists from around the world for PICA including an astounding performance by Diamanda Galas. I work with a variety of cameras and processing techniques — from large-format to digital, archival prints to Polaroids.

What moves me to pursue this crazy career is capturing people in a genuine expression. It's always a wonderful feeling to photograph someone who hates having their photo taken and showing them that it is possible for them to have a photograph of themselves they can love.

Great! I've spent a ton of time working on my website bio over the past several months. It's so very difficult to write about myself. I just culled my info from what I have been compiling already. Thanks for the kudos.

You work in large format? What camera do you have? I have a Linhoff field camera but am really missing my Horseman studio camera :( The camera movements are so different in a field camera.
